retainers

so if you're like me, you will have been blessed by the ortho-gods with disgusting and terrible teeth. and if you're even more like me, you will have had braces and retainers once in your life.

let me just say that I've had 6 different retainers all throughout my life, and I have 8 retainer cases. I am probably the worst person for retainers ever. like ever.

so this post is me trying to help your retainer problems.

My retainers have been chewed on by dogs, broken by me, lost and everything. here are my top 3 tips on how to keep your retainer un-broken.

1) Wear them whenever you can. All the time unless you're brushing your teeth. All the time. And if you aren't wearing them, PUT THEM IN YOUR CASE. I have lost about 3 of mine because of I would wrap them in a tissue when I ate (not good) and the waitress or someone would whisk it away, to be lost forever. Also, I accidently sat on one of my retainers and it wasn't i my case, so I cracked the acrylic part. yeah thats not good.

2) Don't play with them. Your tongue (the strongest muscle of them all) can easily break the wires, causing you having to go buy another retainer, which are eeexxxpensive.

3) GUARD THEM WITH YOUR LIFE. honestly, these are like the most important things after having braces to keep your teeth straight.

Now onto braces. I had braces for only around 8 months (but some of my friends have had theirs for 2-3 years) they hurt, and they hurt a lot. but after about a week the pain will go away. you have to drink soup all the time and eat only yoghurt during the day. the plus side was I got to have smoothies for breakfast for that week (and it was summer anyway). DO NOT PICK THEM. they will fall off and that will completely defeat the purpose of why they're there.

So thats me rambling on about my retainers, which i have had a bad experience. basically, your teeth are very important for future, because it's what people notice when you speak. and it looks really good in photos.

don't forget to comment!
